Cultural Tourism Market in Hangzhou Tonglu Sees a New Boom

On February 11, the "Spring Tour in Tonglu: Just in Time" Tourism Promotion Conference and the "Timeless Elegance: The Most Beautiful Tonglu" Lantern Festival Folk Performance kicked off at Tonglu Central Square in Hangzhou.

On the day of the event, Tonglu Central Square was transformed into a massive Chinese-style Live House, featuring "grand finales" of Tonglu's Spring Festival celebrations. Folk dragon lantern teams, including Jinjia Village's bench dragon, Shenao's lion dance (lions playing with a silk ball overhead), and Eshan's competitive dragon dance, performed one after another. The Song Dynasty-themed market at Kaixuan Gate integrated Song culture with local IPs, offering an exciting folk custom parade.

Additionally, Tonglu, the main filming location for the hit TV series Just in Time, was selected for Zhejiang's Spring Festival-themed travel itinerary. At the event, lead actors Qin Hailu, Zuo Xiaoqing, and Tan Kai teamed up with Tonglu for a "magical collaboration," becoming "ambassadors" for its spring season. They invited tourists to trace the steps of the characters from the series and experience a "journey through time and space."

Tonglu also launched a spring-exclusive "Seven Styles of Spring" package, encompassing seven themed experiences: "Climbing Spring Mountains," "Admiring Spring Flowers," "Playing in Spring Streams," "Strolling Spring Paths," "Tasting Spring Delights," "Exploring Spring Markets," and "Relaxing in Spring Retreats." By integrating unique springtime resources and covering diverse business forms such as agricultural tourism, intangible cultural heritage experiences, sports and leisure, this package offers tourists numerous ways to enjoy the season.

To attract more tourists, Tonglu has unveiled four "Spring Visit to Tonglu" benefits: From February 12 to March 31, visitors can enjoy discounts on designated accommodations booked through Ctrip and Meituan platforms. For tourists departing from Hangzhou, subsidies are available for highway tolls and high-speed rail tickets. A free tourist shuttle service runs from Tonglu East Railway Station to key scenic areas. Various internet-famous scenic spots are also offering special promotions.
