On October 30, the 2025 China (Wuhai) 4th BDO and Degradable Materials Industry Development Conference, themed "Industry Chain Convergence for Mutual Prosperity · Shaping the Future Together" opened in Wuhai City.
On the morning of the same day, multiple authoritative experts, including Academician Jian Xigao from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered keynote lectures, analyzing and elaborating on important topics such as innovative development strategies for China's new material industry, research progress on degradable materials industry development projects, and the preparation and application of functionalized PBAT. Conference attendees, guests, experts, and scholars jointly discussed policy directions, technological innovations, and market prospects for the BDO and degradable materials industry. During the conference, multiple special forums were also held, covering topics such as reflections on "anti-involution competition" in the industry and innovative downstream applications. These forums provided a high-level platform for exchange and cooperation in the national BDO and degradable materials industry, further promoting the deep integration of innovation chains, industrial chains, and value chains, and fostering the healthy development of the BDO and degradable materials industries.
As the permanent host city of the BDO and Degradable Materials Industry Development Conference, Wuhai City leverages its abundant limestone and coke resources to actively advance the full BDO industrial chain layout. The city has attracted a group of enterprises with strong competitiveness, including Guangju New Materials, Sanwei New Materials, Guoxuan Zero-Carbon Technology, Qingtao Energy, Junzheng Energy and Chemical, and Dongyuan Technology. Its BDO production capacity—both completed and under construction—has reached 1.6 million tons, while downstream products account for nearly 1.3 million tons. Wuhai has successfully established several key industrial chains, including "BDO → degradable materials," "BDO → spandex," and "BDO → lithium battery solvents."
