Ningxia's Annual Electricity Exports Surpass 100 Billion kWh for the First Time

As of December 28, 2025, Ningxia's cumulative electricity exports for the year surpassed the 100 billion kilowatt-hour mark for the first time. New energy electricity exports exceeded 28 billion kWh, accounting for 28% of the total. This marks a significant transition for Ningxia's power export model: from "local resource consumption" to "external supply for grid stability," and from exporting "coal-fired power" to transmitting "green power."

Leveraging its advantages as a small region with a strong power grid and a major power-exporting hub, Ningxia has fully utilized its transmission channels to maximize electricity exports. It has also further advanced the bundled transmission model integrating wind, solar, thermal power and energy storage. Nearly 40% of the region's grid-connected new energy electricity is delivered through external transmission, providing strong support for the high utilization rate of renewable energy in Ningxia.

Over the past 15 years, Ningxia's electricity exports have achieved a historic leap from zero to 100 billion kWh. Looking ahead, Ningxia will further integrate into the construction of the national unified power market, accelerate the development of a new-type power system, and contribute to the country's low-carbon transition.
