【Hi, Shandong】 "Lantern Festival Blooms in Incheon" Dongying Spring Festival Folk Culture Exchange Event Held in South Korea

On February 25, the "Lantern Festival Blooms in Incheon" segment of the "Enjoy the Chinese Festival" cultural series was held in Incheon, South Korea. Integrating artistic performances, city promotion, and folk custom experiences, the event extended warm Lantern Festival greetings to Korean families and showcased the charm of traditional Chinese folk culture in Incheon.

Through a combination of themed promotion presentations and promotional videos, the event showcased the unique charm of Dongying, enabling Korean attendees to gain an in-depth understanding of the city’s ecological features, cultural and tourism resources, and dynamic development.

Afterwards, the engaging folk culture interactive session lifted the atmosphere to a climax. Traditional Lantern Festival activities such as the pitch-pot game, lantern riddles, and lantern-making were warmly welcomed by Korean families present at the event.

A dedicated Dongying cultural and creative products zone was also set up at the venue. Featuring items of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) such as Guangrao Qi-style writing brushes and Dongying paper-cutting, the exhibition fully demonstrated the exquisite craftsmanship and cultural ingenuity of the city. At the conclusion of the event, Korean families, holding the handcrafted lanterns, festive Spring Festival couplets, and distinctive cultural souvenirs from Dongying, extended their most sincere Lantern Festival wishes to their Chinese friends, bringing the people of the two places closer together and strengthening their bond of friendship.

Since the launch of Dongying's Lantern Festival exchange activities in South Korea, the city has held a number of cultural exchange events in Seoul and Incheon.
