At the Ezhou Maintenance Branch of State Grid Power Supply Company, there is a team of power grid guardians made up mainly of women. Three generations of female power workers have carried forward this tradition, safeguarding the security and stability of the Ezhou power grid with their sense of responsibility and commitment.

Gan Dongmei, 50, has remained true to her original aspiration through four job rotations in operation and maintenance, general affairs, testing, and equipment maintenance. Rooted in frontline work and dedicated to her duties, she has spent over three decades working across 41 substations in Ezhou.
Yang Yuexia has worked at the centralized control center for substation operation and maintenance for 28 years. As a deputy team leader, she has generously shared her years of accumulated knowledge on monitoring key points, inspection skills, and safety standards, training successive groups of young employees.

Geng Hongjie is a technical expert who has been working on the front line of maintenance for nearly a decade. She is committed to innovation and tackling challenges, having led the development of innovations such as an isolation interlock device and a live-line auxiliary extension tool, which have significantly reduced work time and enhanced safety levels.

He Hua, who joined in 2022, is a young force in the relay protection team. While participating in the integrated automation retrofit of the 110kV Tingzu Substation in early 2024, she crouched at the bottom of a narrow cabinet to check each wire, completing the verification between drawings and actual wiring in nearly two hours.
Gong Shanshan joined the centralized control center in 2024. During a routine battery voltage inspection at Liangzi Island Substation, she and her teammates braved the wind and cold. They promptly identified major equipment hazards, handled the situation calmly, and coordinated swiftly, successfully preventing a potential power grid accident.
Generation after generation, the female power workers of Ezhou have performed extraordinary work in ordinary positions, safeguarding the power grid and serving local development with the unique resilience, meticulousness, and dedication of women.
