Wuhai Receives 411,000 Domestic Tourist Visits During May Day Holiday

According to Wuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio and Television, during this year's May Day holiday, Wuhai received a total of 411,000 domestic tourists, a year-on-year increase of 3.21%. Total spending by domestic tourists reached 288 million yuan, rising by 1.56% year on year.

During the holiday, Wuhai’s cultural and tourism authorities made advance arrangements and elaborate plans, further tapping into high-quality local cultural and tourism resources and launching a host of distinctive and attractive new scenic experiences and recreational activities. Wuhai Lake Leisure and Resort Area proved extremely popular. Tourists took speedboats to the Ulan Buh Desert on the west bank of Wuhai Lake to enjoy thrilling desert off-road adventures. After nightfall, the Desert Overlooking the Sea Concert was held as well.

Suburban trips, rural tours and immersive cultural experiences gained great popularity. Internet-famous sites including Yellow River West Inn became top leisure choices for visitors. Furthermore, cultural events such as the musical drama Legacy of the Third Front Construction and the 2026 Wuhai Lake National Trend Intangible Cultural Heritage Fair offered tourists rich and diverse cultural experiences.

During the May Day holiday, relevant authorities of Wuhai strengthened work safety inspections, focusing on eliminating potential safety hazards in tourist attractions across multiple fields.
