On May 28, the 2026 RCEP Local Governments and Friendly Cities Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum officially opened in Huangshan, Anhui Province. Co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Anhui Provincial People's Government, the event was inaugurated by Tie Ning, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, who delivered a speech and declared the forum open.

Themed "New Blueprint, New Opportunities, New Cooperation," the forum featured multiple dialogue sessions focusing on new quality productive forces, trade and investment, educational exchanges, and media and think tank cooperation. During the event, 20 cooperative outcome documents were signed, covering areas such as the economy, trade, science and technology, cultural exchanges, and sister-city or sister-province partnerships. Furthermore, participating parties jointly issued the East Huangshan RCEP Local Exchange and Cooperation Demonstration Zone Initiative.
Attendees unanimously expressed their commitment to continuously expanding practical cooperation in economic, trade, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges among member states. These efforts aim to inject new momentum into the high-quality implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the deepening of Asia-Pacific regional economic integration.
