On June 11, with the final precast slab hoisted and set in place, the SEDRA project in Saudi Arabia, constructed by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), reached a significant milestone. The hoisting and installation of approximately 208,000 precast components for all 1,894 villas in the Phase III area has been successfully completed.

The SEDRA project is a key component of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. The project adopts an all-precast construction model, with the hoisting of components serving as a critical link between upstream and downstream construction phases. As the first area to commence construction and the first delivery area of the entire project, the Phase III area officially broke ground on May 1, 2024. Faced with challenges such as concurrent infrastructure construction, delayed drawing approvals, and complex overlapping operations between foundation work and component hoisting, the project management team leveraged available site space. They proactively coordinated the planning of work areas for infrastructure, residential foundations, and component hoisting. By dynamically organizing spatial cross-operations and meticulously designing component transport routes, site preparation, and storage plans, the team effectively ensured the efficient progression of hoisting works. During the peak of the hoisting phase, the project team achieved an average installation rate of 13 villas per day.
Project site
Throughout the project's development, CHEC independently established a smart precast factory. By utilizing digital management systems and developing various intelligent construction equipment, the team realized data-driven and coordinated operations across the entire project, significantly accelerating the production of precast components. The project team will continue to consolidate the proven models of refined management, end-to-end coordination, and digital control to accelerate subsequent construction tasks.
