In 2025, CQUPT and Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) of Russia established a joint institute, officially launching joint China-Russia education programs. The joint institute completed its first enrollment in 2026, covering both undergraduate and graduate levels, with course systems delivered in Chinese, Russian, and bilingual formats.

According to Evgeny Vlasov, Vice President of Far Eastern Federal University, for Russian students, Chongqing is a highly appealing "city of the future." Its distinctive three-dimensional geographical landscape and profound historical and cultural heritage deliver a powerful sensory impact and a strong sense of cultural resonance.

Evgeny Vlasov noted that the joint institute has been in operation for one year, and the cooperation model has yielded remarkable results. CQUPT has a strong industrial foundation in fields such as artificial intelligence, electronic information, and the digital economy, which is highly aligned with FEFU's strategy of cultivating high-tech talents. Russian students can not only study cutting-edge technologies but also engage in industrial innovation practices.

Inna, an international student from FEFU, shared her study and life experience at CQUPT. She remarked that Chongqing is a city with profound cultural heritage and distinctive character. During her studies, she and her classmates visited the Chongqing Museum of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression Relics, toured the Liziba Station of Chongqing Rail Transit, and enjoyed distinctive folk performances, gaining a deep appreciation of the local customs and culture. After returning home, she will actively promote Chongqing and CQUPT, and encourage more people to come for exchange and study.

Wang Yang, Dean of the Joint Institute, stated that in 2026, the university will comprehensively upgrade its China-Russia cooperative education programs, with full enrollment opening for both undergraduate and graduate programs. The programs will introduce high-quality Russian scientific and educational resources as well as overseas enterprise resources, to build a comprehensive platform integrating international further education, employment, and talent cultivation, thereby helping students participate in international economic development and Sino-foreign cooperation and exchange.
