On June 14, the expansion project of the fourth main transformer at Wenzhou 500kV Tianzhu Substation was officially commissioned. It is the first completed and operational 500kV main transformer expansion project in Wenzhou within the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. Newly equipped with a 1000 MVA main transformer, the substation's total power transformation capacity has reached 3750 MVA, making it the one with the largest power transformation scale in Wenzhou.
The project reinforces the power grid framework across southern Zhejiang and optimizes the layout of regional transmission networks. It has substantially improved the grid's power supply capability, operational safety, and power dispatching efficiency, laying a solid foundation for stable grid performance. Serving key areas such as Longwan District, northern Rui'an, the expanded substation can fully accommodate the growing power demand from local industrial clusters, as well as digital economy and intelligent manufacturing sectors, and guarantee consistent and reliable electricity supply for residents in the area.
In addition, the project delivers robust power support for Wenzhou to develop a full-chain new energy industrial base featuring nuclear power, wind power, photovoltaic, hydroelectric power, hydropower storage, and hydrogen-based energy storage. It will accelerate local energy transition and fuel high-quality regional economic growth. Built in strict compliance with high standards throughout the whole process, the project has been put into service with zero defects and outstanding quality.
