“The connector temperature at Pole No. 12 of the 35-kV Shangqing Line is 32°C, and the equipment is operating normally.” On the evening of June 17, operation and maintenance personnel from State Grid Yingtan Power Supply Company, equipped with infrared thermometers, conducted a special nighttime inspection of power facilities in the scenic area to ensure stable power supply for the ancient town’s night-tour programs during the Dragon Boat Festival.
A “Dream-Seeking Journey” of Landscapes, Lights and Shadows
To ensure reliable power supply for Yingtan’s cultural tourism market during the holiday, the company made early arrangements. Centering on Longhu Mountain UNESCO Global Geopark and extending to six surrounding tourist attractions, it developed a “three-color power assurance” plan.
For the core scenic area, five distribution lines were placed under a “red alert,” with infrared temperature checks conducted twice daily, in the morning and evening. The inspections focused on high-load power supply points such as lantern installations and performance stages. For areas with a high concentration of B&Bs, a “yellow warning” mechanism was adopted. Grid-based service personnel carried out door-to-door inspections of residual-current devices and dedicated air-conditioning lines, helping rectify 17 cases of aging wiring. For remote attractions, a “green inspection” approach was introduced. Drones were used to inspect forested power line corridors for tree-related hazards, and 23 potential corridor hazards were cleared.

In response to the extended operating hours of the ancient town’s night-tour programs, which now run into the early hours, the company deployed two “Energy Cube” mobile energy storage units and one emergency power supply vehicle in the scenic area. It also formed a 24-hour emergency repair team and equipped it with various emergency supplies to ensure a response within 15 minutes in the event of a sudden fault.
In coordination with local cultural and tourism authorities, the company also established a power demand checklist. It added eight temporary power connections in advance for activities such as dragon boat races and intangible cultural heritage performances, and inspected 27 EV chargers to support tourists’ green travel needs.
During the Dragon Boat Festival, power supply employees will remain stationed at tourist attractions, providing targeted services to safeguard the lively holiday atmosphere and deliver reliable power support for the development of local cultural tourism. (Text/Photos by Wan Zhihui)
