Zhejiang has fully entered the plum rain season, accompanied by frequent short-duration heavy rainfall and local gales. Power lines in mountainous and remote areas are vulnerable to damage caused by rain erosion, fallen trees and landslides. On June 12, operation and maintenance staff from State Grid Ningbo Power Supply Company headed to Jinlu Village of Yinjiang Town to conduct special inspections on power lines and distribution equipment in remote rural areas and mountainous regions, so as to ensure the stable operation of the power grid and reliable power supply for residents throughout the flood season.

Since the start of the flood season, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has made early and thorough arrangements. Taking into account the meteorological characteristics of the flood season, the company has coordinated operation and maintenance resources, and prioritized risk-prone areas including mountainous regions, coastal zones and low-lying areas. It has optimized targeted patrol plans and increased inspection frequency for remote sites, aging power lines and power lines running along rivers. Preparations for flood prevention have been completed in advance, with sufficient supplies such as sandbags, water pumps and emergency generators stocked up. Emergency repair teams are on duty around the clock, forming an all-round and three-dimensional on-site guarantee system.

While strengthening personnel preparedness and material safeguards, the company has fully leveraged digital and intelligent technologies. Relying on intelligent monitoring and remote early warning platforms, it conducts real-time monitoring and analysis of grid loads and equipment operating conditions. It has also established an information sharing mechanism with meteorological, emergency management and water conservancy departments to timely receive weather alerts and flood updates. This enables proactive risk assessment, early identification and mitigation of potential risks and rapid response to emergencies.

During the inspections, staff adopted the combined mode of manual inspections and drone-assisted inspections in light of the operating features of power equipment in mountainous flood-prone areas. They checked section by section the stability of overhead lines, utility pole and tower foundations and stay wires. All identified risks were logged in maintenance records and rectified immediately under a closed-loop management mechanism. For distribution stations in low-lying areas, digital twin and intelligent analysis systems are applied to monitor real-time data such as indoor temperature and humidity, enabling continuous monitoring of equipment conditions.

Moving forward, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power will continue to closely monitor the weather developments during the plum rain season. It will step up inspections on key areas and critical power lines, and carry out regular hidden danger remediation. The company will further optimize emergency repair procedures and consolidate comprehensive support in terms of personnel, materials and technologies. By earnestly implementing all measures for flood and typhoon prevention, it will guarantee a steady power supply during the peak summer period and ensure reliable electricity supply for industrial activities and daily life in both urban and rural areas.
