Xiangyang Power Supply Company: Power Ready for Projects, Empowering Faster Industrial Growth

At a critical juncture in the implementation of major projects and the accelerated extension of industrial chains, State Grid Xiangyang Power Supply Company has continued to optimize the electricity-related business environment, providing strong energy support for the high-quality development of Xiangyang’s industries.
On June 13, 2026, as the final set of switches was precisely closed, the Chufeng 220 kV substation at the Xingfa Baogu Phosphorus Chemical Industrial Park was successfully put into operation. From civil works handover to grid connection and energization, State Grid Xiangyang Power Supply Company completed the process in just 60 days, setting a new record for construction and commissioning for projects of comparable scale and delivering timely power support to the phosphorus chemical industrial park, which has a total investment of 10 billion yuan and an expected output value of 100 billion yuan.
Such concrete power services to enable industrial growth have been implemented one after another in Xiangyang. The 70 GWh lithium battery project of Chuneng New Energy is scheduled to officially begin production at the end of August, with its core processes requiring extremely high levels of power supply stability and reliability. Through all-out efforts and efficient execution, Xiangyang Power Supply moved up the commissioning date of the Xiangyang Huopai 220 kV power transmission and transformation project from September 30 to the end of May.

Behind this rapid progress are process innovation and mechanism restructuring. Xiangyang Power Supply Company has achieved simultaneous progress across multiple links, including project approval, materials support, civil construction, equipment installation, commissioning, inspection and acceptance, and government-enterprise coordination. At the same time, by minimizing the gap between construction and acceptance, the company took the lead in Hubei Province in achieving simultaneous energization and commissioning of three voltage levels: the 220 kV main project, dedicated user lines, and 110 kV supporting lines. This has truly ensured that projects are put into operation immediately upon completion and deliver results as soon as they begin operation.
