On June 23, the Gansu Provincial Government Information Office held a press conference for the 32nd China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair (CLZITF). Officials from the Department of Commerce of Gansu Province, the Gansu Provincial Economic Cooperation Center, and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Gansu Province provided updates on the fair's preparations, guest invitations, featured events, and industrial investment promotion.
This year's CLZITF, themed "New Opportunities for Pragmatic Cooperation, New Pattern of Open Development," will be held in Lanzhou from July 9 to 13. The event will highlight five defining features: internationalization, industrial focus, digitalization, scenario-based investment promotion, and public benefits. It is committed to building a Silk Road economic and trade cooperation platform with global reach.

According to the organizers, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Pakistan have been designated as the countries of honor for this year's CLZITF. To date, representatives from diplomatic missions in China of 36 countries, business associations, enterprises, and international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the ASEAN-China Centre, have confirmed their attendance, along with delegates from 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, major cities, and the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions. The fair will feature a series of country-specific business matchmaking events focusing on sectors including new energy, modern agriculture, biomedicine, and cross-border logistics. Dedicated pavilions for Hong Kong, the ROK, and Pakistan will showcase their signature industries and products.
Industrial investment promotion will remain a central focus throughout the fair, supporting efforts to extend, fill gaps in, and strengthen Gansu's 14 key industrial chains. Leveraging the province's strengths in energy resources, logistics corridors, and mineral reserves, the fair will host a series of international matchmaking sessions covering green foreign investment, RCEP agricultural trade cooperation, and mining rights investment promotion, with the aim of expanding international cooperation in new energy, specialty agricultural products, and strategic mineral resources. In addition, entrepreneur delegation visits under the "Gansu Tour" program will be organized in partnership with key domestic regions, including the Yangtze River Delta, Shandong, Shaanxi, Guangxi, and Guizhou, to facilitate the transfer of industries such as light manufacturing, fine chemicals, and advanced manufacturing. To foster the development of new quality productive forces, the fair will also host forums and matchmaking events on collaboration with centrally administered state-owned enterprises, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and coordinated innovation among Lanzhou University, local governments, and enterprises. These activities will focus on emerging sectors such as the low-altitude economy, hydrogen energy equipment, commercial aerospace, and green computing power, while attracting investment, talent, and high-quality projects.
This year's CLZITF will also introduce an innovative scenario-based investment promotion model. During the fair, the Gansu Province Scenario-Based Investment Promotion List will be released, presenting investment opportunities across a range of application scenarios, including new energy, traditional Chinese medicinal materials, smart logistics, and biopharmaceuticals, with the goal of attracting businesses through real market opportunities. The fair's digital services have also been upgraded. The "Gansutou" digital intelligence investment promotion system and a newly launched online platform will support online project releases, intelligent supply-demand matching, and year-round online business negotiations.
Pre-event activities for this year's CLZITF will begin on July 8. The opening ceremony, the opening ceremonies of the international pavilions, and six major economic and trade matchmaking events will take place on July 9. Activities focusing on sci-tech investment promotion, scenario-based investment promotion, and industrial transfer in the light manufacturing sector will be held on July 10, followed by a province-wide mining rights investment promotion session on July 11. The fair will conclude with a results briefing on July 13. Throughout the event, cities and prefectures across Gansu Province, together with Lanzhou New Area, will organize complementary promotional activities and site visits to local industrial parks for business delegates.
To stimulate consumer spending alongside the exhibition, a province-wide consumption promotion campaign will run from July 1 to 30. Registered participants with valid credentials will be eligible to apply for consumer vouchers, which can be used at more than 600 participating supermarkets, hotels, and cultural and tourism venues. Additional incentives, including bank payment discounts, invoice prize draws, and tax refunds upon departure, will further encourage spending and strengthen the integration of the exhibition with local consumption.
At the press conference, officials said this year's CLZITF will continue advancing the initiative to attract large-scale, high-quality, and industry-leading enterprises, better coordinate domestic and international resources for higher-level opening-up, and further improve its comprehensive service support system. They also extended a sincere invitation to businesses from around the world to seize Gansu's strategic development opportunities and explore new avenues for industrial cooperation.
