Zhangye Danxia is China's only scenic area where Danxia landforms and colorful hills intersect. Rich in iron, manganese, and other oxides, the rock layers display a vivid interplay of red, orange, yellow, and brown, creating a vast and majestic landscape.

Nestled at the northern foot of the Qilian Mountains, these colorful hills are a geological treasure millions of years in the making. They serve as a premier showcase for the Hexi Corridor's cultural and tourism appeal. By preserving this natural heritage, the region continues to tell the story of the Silk Road while welcoming visitors from all over the world. (Text by Dai Manchun)
