In recent days, the "Silk Road IP, Opportunities in China" International Online Communication Campaign visited the POWERCHINA Jinguang Photovoltaic (PV) Power Station in Jiuquan. International Experience Ambassadors conducted an on-site exploration to see how the region is harnessing solar energy.
The 200-megawatt Jinguang PV Power Station breathes new life into underutilized land in the Gobi Desert, supported by a comprehensive power transmission network. During the construction phase, State Grid Jiuquan Power Supply Company proactively planned the supporting grid infrastructure to ensure the station could achieve seamless grid connection and begin power transmission immediately upon completion.
In the energy storage zone, large-scale energy storage facilities respond rapidly to dispatch commands, performing peak shaving and valley filling while storing electricity to mitigate the intermittency of solar power. In the SVG (Static Var Generator) reactive power compensation zone, advanced equipment stabilizes voltage and optimizes the power supply environment to ensure operational safety. Meanwhile, in the 110-kV equipment area, the Jinguang Substation serves as a regional new energy hub, stepping up clean electricity for integration into the main grid and enabling cross-regional transmission.
