Recently, the "Silk Road IP, Opportunities in China" International Online Communication Campaign visited the Jiuquan UHV Substation in the Gobi heartland of the Hexi Corridor.

The Jiuquan UHV Substation fulfills three strategic roles: west-to-east power transmission, new energy integration, and ensuring regional power supply. It opens cross-regional transmission corridors for power from Xinjiang to eastern China and facilitates the cross-regional consumption of new energy generated in the Hexi Corridor, laying a solid foundation for the stable and long-distance delivery of clean energy.

Operations and maintenance personnel showed the International Experience Ambassadors the outdoor open-type distribution equipment, explaining its key role in collecting new energy generated in the Gobi Desert and stepping up voltage for long-distance transmission. They then demonstrated how high-voltage shunt reactors operate, emphasizing their role in stabilizing grid voltage and minimizing transmission losses. The International Experience Ambassadors participated enthusiastically in discussions and expressed sincere admiration for advances in smart grids and clean energy.

Operations and maintenance personnel also presented an integrated smart inspection system featuring inspection robots operating in tandem with an intelligent inspection system. The system drew strong interest from the International Experience Ambassadors, who gathered to take a closer look.

Using this power hub as a showcase, the event highlighted China's approach to leveraging smart operations and maintenance to transmit clean energy over long distances. From the Gobi Desert to distant regions, "Jiuquan green power" is rapidly bringing electricity to households and making a tangible and powerful contribution to the global energy transition.
