2026 "Colorful Guizhou" Dragon Boat Champions Cup Held in Zhenyuan County

From July 18 to 19, 2026, the "Colorful Guizhou" Dragon Boat Champions Cup was held in Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. The event brought together nine teams from Guiyang, Zunyi, Liupanshui, Bijie, Tongren, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Qiannan Prefecture, Qianxinan Prefecture, and the host county Zhenyuan. Competing in the 200m and 500m standard dragon boat sprint races, the teams engaged in multiple rounds of intense racing, delivering a provincial-level sports gala that deeply integrated competitive athletics, folk culture, and tourism.

At the race site, drummers from each team beat their drums with powerful rhythm, while all paddlers pulled together in perfect unison. Spectators on both banks cheered with tremendous enthusiasm, creating an electrifying and fervent atmosphere throughout the competition.

After two days of fierce contests, the final results for the standard dragon boat 200m sprint race were: Qiandongnan Prefecture team taking first place, Zhenyuan County team second, Bijie City team third, and Tongren City team fourth. In the standard dragon boat 500m sprint race, Qiandongnan Prefecture team claimed first, Bijie City team second, Tongren City team third, and Zhenyuan County team fourth.

Hosting this event in Zhenyuan not only served as a practical step to promote the inheritance and development of the national intangible cultural heritage of dragon boat racing through sports, but also acted as an effective driver for the integrated development of culture, tourism, and sports, significantly boosting tourism consumption and local economic growth.
