On August 14, the Seminar on High-Quality Development of International Medical Services and the 8th Belt and Road Medical Assistance Conference (MASSCON 2026) was held at China National Convention Center in Beijing.
As a major supporting event of the 32nd China International Medical Equipment Exhibition and Scientific Conference (China-Hospeq 2026), the conference was themed "Connecting Expertise Along the Silk Road to Enhance International Healthcare Cooperation". It brought together representatives from the healthcare sector in China and abroad for in-depth discussions on a range of topics, including facilitating access to medical treatment in China for overseas patients, domestic and international healthcare practices, cross-border medical information platforms, financial protection and payment settlement, cross-border emergency medical rescue and the development of border port hospitals, medical tourism, and international medical transport.
At the conference, a cross-border medical information service platform to be jointly developed by CRI Online and the International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center (IHECC) of the National Health Commission was introduced. The platform is designed to serve as a key window for showcasing China's medical capabilities to international audiences, while also connecting stakeholders across the cross-border healthcare sector. With a focus on patient needs, it will also provide professional support services for those seeking medical treatment across borders.
A series of thematic panel discussions were held during the conference, featuring in-depth exchanges in five key areas: advanced practices in international medical services in China, cross-border emergency medical rescue, local practices in international medical services, international medical service practices at border port hospitals, and supporting services for cross-border medical treatment.

Through the sharing of interim research findings and international experience, presentations on relevant service platforms and financial services, and five thematic panel discussions, the conference facilitated in-depth exchanges on key areas and practical issues related to the high-quality development of international medical services. The discussions provided useful insights for sharing experience, promoting mutual learning, and building consensus on future development.
