Recently, Jinhua's first 400-kilowatt fixed-site emergency generator was officially connected to the grid and put into operation at the end of the Daying Branch Line of the 10-kilovolt Zhengzhai Line in Zhouwu Village, Ruoyang Township. The new facility is expected to optimize power supply assurance operations in remote mountainous areas, improve the efficiency of line operation and maintenance and emergency power restoration, and provide residents in mountainous areas with a more stable and reliable power supply.
Ruoyang Township is located at the southernmost end of Jinhua, surrounded by mountains with winding mountain roads. The long distance between the urban area and villages, together with complex road conditions, makes it difficult to transport large power generation equipment into mountainous areas, resulting in relatively long response times for line repairs and emergency power restoration. In order to adapt to the actual needs of power supply assurance in mountainous areas and enhance power supply service capabilities in remote regions, State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company has optimized the traditional mobile power supply model and implemented the first fixed-site emergency generator pilot project, exploring a new approach to more precise operation and maintenance of the power grid in mountainous areas.
The newly commissioned equipment is a compact, integrated containerized unit that is permanently installed in the village, eliminating the need to transport large equipment by vehicle and addressing the difficulties of bringing large emergency power supply equipment into mountainous areas. Equipped with an intelligent control system, the equipment supports remote start and shutdown, and can intelligently coordinate with three switches on the Daying Branch Line equipped with remote control, remote signaling, and remote measurement functions. Once an abnormality in the line is detected, the system can automatically and quickly isolate the fault section, enabling rapid power restoration in unaffected areas and significantly improving power supply reliability in mountainous areas.
At the same time, the fixed-site equipment is on standby around the clock and can be activated whenever needed, without being constrained by road and traffic conditions. It can also support planned power outages for line maintenance, equipment upgrades, and other work, helping streamline work procedures and shorten response and maintenance times. In this way, it improves the efficiency of emergency power supply, routine power supply, and line maintenance.
"Now there is this emergency power generation equipment right at our doorstep. When there is a fault, power can be quickly restored. We feel particularly assured about our daily electricity use. This is truly a tangible benefit for the people!" said Mr. Li, a resident of Zhouwu Village, as he watched the generator operating smoothly.
The successful commissioning of Jinhua's first fixed-site emergency generator marks an innovative practice by State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company to improve power supply assurance in remote areas based on the operational characteristics of mountainous power grids. It fills a gap in the provision of fixed emergency power supply facilities in the mountainous areas of Jinhua and provides a replicable model for the intelligent and refined operation and maintenance of mountainous power grids across the city.
Going forward, State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company will comprehensively summarize the pilot operation experience, continue to strengthen the foundation for reliable power supply in remote mountainous areas, and inject a steady stream of green power momentum into the high-quality development of rural revitalization.
