2022 Internet Yuelu Summit Raises Its Curtain in Changsha, China

On the morning of August 31, 2022 Internet Yuelu Summit opened in Changsha, China. At the summit, 24 major projects with a total investment of CNY 83.31 billion (USD 12 billion) were signed, and the Yuelu Declaration was issued.

Themed "Innovation-Oriented Changsha toward A Digital Future" and centered on advanced computing, digital economy and metaverse, the event is held online and offline. It will include eight thematic forums, such as "Sci-Tech Innovation Leads to A Digital Future", "Strengthening Provincial Capital and Intellectual Manufacturing", and "Digitalization Empowers Enterprises with Specialty, Refinement, Characteristics, and Novelty". The aim is to seize high-quality development opportunities and quickly deploy artificial intelligence, digital economy, and other strategic emerging and future industries. The event will be built into a communication and sharing platform for domestic and foreign Internet industry leaders, experts and scholars, industry elites, entrepreneurs, and other related people to discuss new trends in the development of the Internet sector.

From 2014 to 2022, initiated by the original six leading figures from Hunan, the summit has developed into an international event bringing together thousands of people. The Internet summit originating from the millennium-old Yuelu Academy has become an annual grand gathering for the Internet industry and an Internet growth engine in Hunan. It has helped the digital economy in Hunan enter the "fast lane" of development. In 2021, the scale of Hunan's digital economy exceeded 1.3 CNY trillion (USD 188.6 billion), increasing by 17 percent and maintaining a double-digit growth for the fourth consecutive year. The numbers of high-tech enterprises and small and medium-sized technology enterprises on record have topped 10,000 respectively.
