When “Qixi Festival” Met “Meteor Shower”, Deep Interpretation of “Qixi Wonders” of Henan TV

On August 13, 2021 (the 6th day of the 7th lunar month), “Qixi Wonders”(Qixi Qimiaoyou) conducted by Henan TV fell on the night before “Qixi Festival”, or Chinese Valentine’s Day.

The performance tells a story in which Tang Xiaotian, a female taikonaut, time travelled to Luoyang in Tang Dynasty (618 - 907)  in 2035 and met Tang Xiaozhu, who comes from a long line of medical workers, and Tang Xiaoke, a story-teller, with whom she spent a special Qixi Festival. The performance consisted of multiple shows.

The performances in“Qixi Wonders”integrated elements of love + patriotism, ancient times + modernity to bring extra surprises to audiences and netizens. Especally the dance named “Guardian Warriors of Longmen”, the traditional Chinese opera “Love” and the instrumental music “Pozhenyue”, which are widely considered as of development potential. The “Traditional Chinese Festival”Program wishes to introduce imagination and creativity to the Mid-Autumn Festival and Double Ninth Festival to come by “Qixi Wonders”, to deeply blend the culture and the program based on traditional culture, so as to keep releasing attractive products and really “activate” traditional culture.
