With fine weather and pleasant temperature during the May Day holiday, Luoyang has felt the high enthusiasm of tourists, and reported a new high in the total tourist reception. The culture and tourism consumption also achieved a substantial growth thanks to the safe and orderly operation of the local culture and tourism market.

Statistics shows that Luoyang received a total of 4.7238 million tourists during the five-day holiday this year, with a comprehensive tourism income of 4.383 billion yuan, an increase of 47.37% and 38.85% respectively compared with the four-day holiday period in 2019.

The number of foreign tourists increased significantly. Before the May Day, Luoyang carried out large-scale tourist attraction activities, media publicity and network promotion, which further improved the popularity of Luoyang Tourism. The figure of tourist arrivals, especially tourists from outside Henan Province, climbed sharply with the continuous development of cultural and tourism preferential activities such as "Peony" high-speed railway tourist train and "Tourists’ annual pass around Luoyang metropolitan area". Major areas for tourists like the airport, high-speed railway Longmen station and other places saw peak inflow of tourists, while many hotels and homestay guesthouses were fully reserved.

According to statistics, during this May Day holiday, visitors to Luoyang Museum have nearly tripled the figure in the same period last year. In addition to scenic spots and cultural venues, cultural and creative shops in Luoyang were also gaining great popularity among tourists who had the chance to choose from a wide range of cultural and creative products with distinctive themes.
