Peonies in peak bloom in central China's Henan Province

Peonies in Luoyang City in central China's Henan Province have reached their peak bloom period. Colorful and showy flowers are blossoming elegantly, attracting people to stop and snap a few pictures.
Luoyang City is known as the "City of Peonies" thanks to its exquisite collection of the flower that has been famous since the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Every April when the peonies are in full bloom, Luoyang City holds events centered around the flowers to attract tourists.
