Mudange Scenic Area, where the Peony Museum is located, started its construction in November, 2019. It has 73 mu (nearly 4.87 hectares) of land area, and around 20,000 square meters of building area. The comprehensive cultural and tourism scenic area, consisting of Peony Museum, Peony Garden, sorts of immersive experience projects, etc, integrates collection research, digital display, education and research, as well as tourism and recreation.

The Peony Museum is composed of functions of peony cultural items display, peony industry research, peony information exchange and peony cultural tourism. It is divided into 10 themed exhibition halls, namely Peony Virtue, Peony Poems, Peony Chart, Peony Art, Peony Festival, Peony Cultivation, Peony Breeds, Peony Application, Peony-themed Communication and Peony Research.
In the exhibition hall, the dynamic painting of "Ode to the Goddess of the Luo River", the large-scale group sculptures named "Jiuxianshangmudan" (Nine Scholars Admiring Peonies), and the holographic painting named "Peony Pavilion" would attract many curious visitors.
The Peony Museum adopts modern digital technology, and with 3D modeling, 3D projection and other technologies, it displays static cultural relics in dynamic forms, which, added with sound, light, electricity and brilliant settings, boasts strong visual impact and immersive experience. The Peony Museum is China's first "fun" museum with cultural experiences.
