Nanshishan Village, in Chaoyang Town, Mengjin District of Luoyang, is well-known worldwide for its Tang tri-colored glazed pottery. It’s learned that Tang tri-colored glazed pottery can be traced back to over 1,300 years ago, but inheritance of the techniques was disrupted for over 1,000 years. The precious tri-colored glazed pottery only reappeared in the early 20th century when some were excavated in Beimang area in Luoyang.
In 2008, the tri-colored glazed pottery technique was listed among the second batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritages.
