Opening Ceremony of Luoyang's Peony Culture Festival 'Embraces' Era of Metaverse

As one of the key events of the 40th Peony Culture Festival of Luoyang  China, the metaverse-powered opening ceremony "Fantasy Night in a City of Peony" will start at 20:00 on April 8 and open to netizens and viewers. The film crew of the opening ceremony finished filming in the attractions of Luoyang on March 13 and will move on at a studio applying virtual reality technologies.

The metaverse-powered "Fantasy Night in a City of Peony", adhering to the requirements of "groundbreaking creativeness, immersive experience, youthful consumption and mobile communication", will be the first-ever online metaverse-based opening ceremony for a large-scale culture event. The opening ceremony will be presented through special effects in the pre-production and on-site filming, aiming to enhance visitors', especially the young generation's acceptance of Luoyang and their immersive experiences in this city. 

From March 9 to 13, the film crew took videos clips at the Longmen Grottoes, Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Archaeological Site Park, Lijing Gate, Luoyi Ancient City, Mudan Pavilion and other landmarks in Luoyang. The whole opening ceremony is expected to last 40 minutes and will be divided into chapters titled "Show of a City of Flowers", "History of an Imperial Capital", "Praises of a City of Poems", "Trip to a Gastronomical Paradise", "Discover Luoyang 2023", and others. This opening ceremony perfectly integrates the rich historical heritage, cozy modern life, and other wonderful things in Luoyang, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in this fantastic city of peonies and indulge themselves in the unique romance of Luoyang.
