During the past Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, the "Epic Road of Tuoba Xianbei" themed exhibition held at Dongguan Museum drew in a large number of visitors. Among the exhibits, 50 pieces (sets) of precious relics from Luoyang Museum reproduce the historical period of the Northern Wei Dynasty before and after the relocation of its capital to Luoyang.

The exhibition, jointly held by Luoyang Museum, Dongguan Museum, Inner Mongolia Museum, Datong Museum, Hulun Buir Nationality Museum, is consisted of three parts, namely "Tuoba Xianbei on Black Felt", "Pingcheng Era of Northern Wei", and "From Pingcheng to Luoyang". A total of 171 pieces (sets) of cultural relics are on display, presenting the route, i.e., starting from Gaxian Cave, Xianbei Tuoba went all the way south to reach Shengle and Pingcheng, and then ultimately settled the capital in Luoyang.

During the Northern Wei Dynasty, Luoyang City is quite international. More than a thousand years ago, the city was home to plenty of businesspeople and passengers from the Western, with goods from around the world available here, all of which reflect its prosperity. The exhibition features sculptures of clay figure, tiles with animal face patterns, tiles of six-petaled lotus patterns and other cultural relics, with distinctive modeling, rounded and smooth lines. There is also a group of painted pottery with female figurines, who have black hair, red lips, and good looks, playing drums or pipa. The exhibition vividly reproduce the scenes of music playing and dancing in the Northern Wei Dynasty.

The themed exhibition will last until December 10. The person in charge of Luoyang Museum said that in the future they will actively cooperate and exchange with more culture-related institutions and museums, to attract more people to embrace the charms of Luoyang's history and culture.
