|国际在线新闻|2023-12-22 15:32:41

Recently, the Detailed Rules for the Control of Land and Space in the Core Monitoring Area of the Luohe River Section of the Grand Canal in Luoyang City was announced, which provides detailed regulations within a 2,000-meter range on both sides of the Luohe River section of the Grand Canal, and proposes to develop landscape with Tang-style historical feature.

The Grand Canal is a precious heritage item of China and a dynamic cultural asset that should be well protected, inherited, and utilized. The Luohe River section of the Grand Canal is part of the World Cultural Heritage Site and boasts countless historical and cultural treasures. If observing Luoyang City can reveal the rise and fall of ancient and modern times, then appreciating Luohe River can catch the millennial charm of the culture. To preserve and promote its cultural spirit, it is essential to focus on protection, development, and utilization while integrating the Grand Canal with contemporary social features and people's lives.

In Suzhou, the construction of the "Ten Views of the Canal" outlines the modern version of the "Prosperous Map of the Canal". Efforts has been made to renovate and improve the overall appearance along the canal, enhance surrounding public facilities such as fitness trails and landscape greening, and build characteristic towns, streets and blocks for leisure activities, and high-quality scenic spots, making the canal culture more accessible and tangible. Today, on both sides of the canal, a beautiful picture of the intersection of ancient and modern, and the harmonious symbiosis of man and water is slowly unfolding.

As cities are promoted to be the dominant tourist destinations, Luohe River is also a stage to show the charm of the city. By continuing to improve service-centered facilities, transforming waterfront streets according to local conditions, introducing cultural and tourism formats, and creating vibrant consumption scenarios, it is believed that more people will walk along the Luohe River, appreciate the scenery of the canal, and feel the charm of the millennial culture!
