Creative 'Customer Spoiling' Boosting Luoyang Cultural Tourism

|洛阳日报|2024-01-19 13:38:30

This winter, the popularity of ice and snow tours in Northeast China has sparked a response from the cultural tourism industry nationwide. Henan, which boasts rich cultural and tourism resources, has been called upon by numerous netizens to "embrace the unexpected windfall".

Recently, Luoyang's cultural tourism authority has been making continuous efforts to stand out, from "welcoming princesses back to the city" to "changing into flying-fish costumes overnight", Luoyang has been reacting to voices from its potential tourists. They even send "Golden Armor Warriors" to pick up tourists at the railway station, arrange "Jinyiwei" (a type of ancient Chinese guard) in flying-fish costumes at the subway station to escort "princesses" and have "Hanfu ladies" interact with tourists while giving out "diamonds". These elaborate customer-focused measures have drawn attention to Luoyang's cultural tourism industry.

"The aroma of wine can be hidden by winding alleys. In today's era, constant and loud marketing is essential," said Liu Yan, the person in charge of the Luoyang Tourism Industry-Education Alliance. He pointed out that young people have become a driving force in cultural tourism consumption and has been active on the internet. Mobile promotion can increase the exposure of high-quality cultural tourism products and attract more young people to visit.

In addition to utilizing new communication methods such as mobile and interactive platforms, Luoyang's cultural tourism authority has also come up with practical measures, such as the issuance of CNY 99 Joint Pass for attractions in Luoyang, free admission to Luoyang attractions for airplane passengers, and the Luoyang Tourism Annual Pass for the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Additionally, it has formed partnerships with Changping District in Beijing and Jiaozuo in Henan, offering mutual free-admission policies on tourist attractions.

In the era of mobile internet, cultural tourism economy is also a data traffic-based economy. How to seize the "traffic opportunity" for the development of the cultural tourism industry and transform temporary popularity into sustained development momentum?

Qin Zhenwei, the president of the Luoyang Travel Agency Industry Association, said that traffic is a lever, a driving force, and a traction force. It's not a one-time effort to harness this force. He suggested that continuous innovation based on unique cultural and tourism resources should be carried out to create more high-quality and characteristic cultural tourism products, and that the facilities and service quality of tourist destinations should be comprehensively improved to provide visitors with high-quality tourism experiences and thus turn first-time visitors into loyal customers.

Liu Yan added that to sustain the popularity, continuous efforts are required in service optimization, quality assurance, and overall experiential improvements in eating, living, transporting, visiting, shopping, and entertainment. This will enhance customer experience and transform the "internet hotspot" into a "long-term favorite".
