Luoyang's First Durian Festival Ended with More Than 200,000 Visitors
Luoyang's First Durian Festival was held from May 1 to 5 in Sui-Tang Luoyang City. As of the festival ended, a total of more than 200,000 tourists have visited.
The festival has integrated trade, tourism and consumption. There were four sections onsite with durian as the main character. It not only displayed many hot durian species such as Musang King and Monthong, but also some durian desserts like roasted durian, durian-flavoured ice cream and other delicacies from Thailand and Southeast Asia. Additionally, the festival showcased an array of specialty goods from Southeast Asia, including Thai textiles and silverware, as well as cultural and creative products featuring traditional Chinese characters.
During the festival, citizens also experienced the merits of the open economy through shopping methods like online display and order, express delivery and direct purchase from neighbourhood. In addition, China chic together with Southeast Asia style has deeply impressed tourists. Spectacular performances such as a lighting ceremony, traditional dance and drum shows, acrobatics livened up the festival.
