|ChinaNews|2024-06-07 16:14:16

June 8 marks Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which coincides with the traditional Dragon Boat Festival. To celebrate, several museums in Luoyang are offering engaging intangible cultural heritage study activities, showcasing the charm of traditional culture.

The Zhougong Temple Museum in Luoyang has prepared a "Heritage Meets Dragon Boat Festival - Hand Fan Crafting Study Activity" where children can create handmade lacquer fans. These fans, crafted using lacquerware techniques, use fans as their base. At the Museum of Emperor's Six-horse Chariot, well-known intangible cultural heritage projects such as Luoyang Peony Embroidery and Tang Sancai (tri-colored glazed pottery) will be showcased, offering visitors a comprehensive understanding of the background and value of intangible cultural heritage. The Commemoration of the Office of the Eight Route Army of Luoyang will host activities like traditional papermaking and movable type printing, guiding participants through the history of papermaking, experiencing ancient papermaking techniques, and creating their own handmade flower and grass paper, demonstrating the enduring vitality of ancient skills and the beauty of Chinese handcraft papermaking. The Luoyang Folk Museum will introduce a "Raise the 'Zongzi' High - Make Little Q Zongzi with Twisted Stick" study activity, allowing visitors to create their own cultural heritage "zongzi" sachets using twisted sticks, experiencing the charm of traditional crafts.
