Luoyang Welcomes 8.23 Million Tourists During National Day Holiday

During this year's National Day holiday, Luoyang hosted a total of 8,230,900 tourists, generating a tourism revenue of CNY 6.977 billion.

The holiday period saw a wide range of cultural and tourism activities under the theme "Grand National Day, Together in Luoyang". A total of 100 cultural and tourism events were meticulously planned, along with various preferential tourism policies and eight special National Day-themed travel routes launched in this city. Additionally, rural tourism continued to gain popularity. At the Chongdugou Scenic Spot, a Golden Autumn Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Fair featured ICH performances and markets, while Jiguan Cave Scenic Spot hosted a "China chic" market and traditional Chinese performances that drew many locals and tourists to experience the charm of rural life and pastoral landscapes.

This year, Luoyang also introduced the "Ancient Capital of Eight at Night" spots tailored for the National Day holiday's cultural tourism, recommending 95 locations across five popular nighttime activities: entertainment, performances, photography, shopping, and dining. These efforts greatly expanded the supply of nighttime cultural products and attracted many residents and visitors to explore the city.

Given the enduring popularity of the museum and cultural tourism, Luoyang decided to cancel the Monday closures of the major museums and extend their opening hours. To further accommodate the influx of visitors, eight special holiday bus lines were launched, providing convenient access to major tourist attractions such as Yingtian Gate, Luoyi Ancient City, White Horse Temple, Longmen Grottoes, and the Luoyang Museum of Ancient Tombs. Also, the operating hours of the subway were extended by one hour.
