National Peony Garden

The National Peony Garden, also known as China Luoyang National Peony Gene Pool, is the largest peony production base in China, which cultivates wild peonies, breeds new types and reproduces commercial-grade peonies. It covers an area of roughly 500 mu, among which 200 mu is used as nursery, nurturing more than 600 species of peonies, 6 species planted in the wild, 72 new species with 500,000-plus plants of peony flowers, and over 100 species with over 50,000 plants of peony flowers which are imported from foreign countries. At present, 300,000 plants of commercial-grade, premium quality peony flowers of all kinds across nine color ranges are cultivated annually.
